Burnham Market, U.K.
The PCC (Project Cosy Creatures) story is set on a farmstead in Norfolk, U.K., just outside a real life village called Burnham Market.
Burnham Market is in North-West Norfolk county shire of East Anglia; only a mile away from the North Sea. By car, Burnham is a three hour drive away from London and an hour from the city of Cambridge, ensuring the pretty village is a summer getaway for many. Many of the village shops and eating places remain in the original 17th Century buildings of the main streets.
Personally
I know Burnham Market reasonably well having visited the nearby areas several times while living in Cambridgeshire, Britain.
Importantly, my husband was actually born in a famous cottage in Burnham Market, and his family is from the area, many still living there.
Burnham Market is one of those quaint and beautiful British towns, perfect for a location for a cosy little story.

Burnham Market Village Website
A simple website with some images of local shops. Not kept up to date with events, however. (The page on Facebook is better for this).
Frustratingly, the town map onsite is not downloadable and barely legible.

The Burnhams
Burnham Market is not the only Burnham. With a population of about 950, Burnham Market is the largest of the seven Burnham villages in north-west Norfolk. It was formed by the merger of the three villages of Burnham Westgate, Burnham Ulph and Burnham Sutton. It stands near the mouth of the small River Burn, from which its name derives.
Burnham Thorpe, only 1/2 a mile away, is the birthplace of Lord Admiral Haratio Nelson. In Burnham Market you will find a small museum and a pub and hotel dedicated to the Admiral.
I am currently sketching portions of Burnham Market and my storyworld. See those projects under the Art page and below.
